We know that it’s hard to believe, but the month of October is almost here. While we love Halloween and all of the candy that goes along with it, we’ve starting eyeing an even bigger and more meaningful holiday that comes at the end of the year. Yes, we’ve been thinking about Christmas and chances are that at some point you have too!
While we’ve taken most of the summer off from posting new articles on our blog, that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been working hard at Hit Trophy and HitTrophy.com to make our customer’s experience easier and more enjoyable. Since we’ve posted last there have been many updates made to our website and to our social media outlets as well.
At Hit Trophy we’re always looking for things that are new to our industry, but we’re even more interested in things that are just a little different than the average plaque or trophy. Two weeks ago we added a new line of trophies to HitTrophy.com and these items were both new and different. The items that we added were our new line of Pedestal Trophies.
This past Saturday, June 11th Ruler on Ice pulled off one of the most spectacular upsets in recent horse racing memory. The three year old Gelding horse was a 24-1 underdog, but in the he slushed through the final quarter mile of the race to pull of an amazing victory.
It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to run a successful business or a successful sports team, in either situation you’re going to need good teamwork to reach the goals that you have set. After being in business for over 47 years now, we here at Hit Trophy also know the importance of teamwork. It’s clear to all American’s that the 4th of July is America’s most patriotic holiday, after all, it is our Independence Day. But there are other holiday’s when Americans show of their red, white and blue. One of those days is Memorial Day. Hit Trophy is a very patriotic company and we have added another great patriotic award to our collection just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
For close to 50 years Hit Trophy has been producing the classic trophies and awards for our customers, both local and abroad. Trophies first started out being made from wood and slowly made their way to marble bases with plastic tubing. Since the 1980’s trophies have started to have a more refined look as we started to make trophies with acrylic, glass and crystal. Now that we’re in 2011 it seems that trophies have taken another turn, this time we have added Glass Art Awards. We’ve added a Glass Art Awards category on our new website.

Memorial Day first started as back in the Civil War days as a way to honor both Union and Confederate soldiers who died. After World War II, Memorial Day was extended to recognizing all soldiers who gave their lives in any war, not just the Civil War. While it was originally called “Decoration Day, it wasn’t until 1967 when Memorial Day was officially given its name of “Memorial Day.” Today most people celebrate Memorial Day by attending memorial services, most of which take place at cemeteries of their fallen soldiers, but there are other ways to remember and show your respect for your loved ones all year round.
Now-a-days it seems that everyone has a Facebook. Some people view that as a good thing that you can connect with friends of the past and keep up with family members that live far away. On the other hand, some teenagers think it’s “lame” that their parents have Facebook and they can be friends with their friends. A lot of businesses are also getting their own Facebook pages and that includes us as you can view the Hit Trophy Facebook Page anytime, day or night.
