The origins of powerlifting stretch back to ancient times, but the modern sport originated in the United States and the UK in the 1950s. Since 1973, the three lifts of Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift were done in the order now used in powerlifting competitions. Due to the rapidly increasing popularity of this sport, we have recently added a number of awards for powerlifting competitions including our Male Bench Press Trophy (item # RFB088). Created from electroplated resin, this figurine of a man completing a bench press rep is as strong as the man who will win it. The 6″ x 9″ statuette weighs about 7 lbs. and it is fastened to a black base.
