Description
Giving someone the Key to the City is an act of friendship and trust that dates back to the Medieval Era. Enclosed by walls and gates, towns used guards during the day and closed the gates at night for protection. Although our cities are no longer surrounded by walls, the practice continues today as a symbolic act of appreciation. Our Key to the City Plaque (item AP70) takes this tradition and makes it modern. We have taken a die cast gold finished key and mounted it to a beautiful cherry finished board measuring 16” x 7”. Our graphic artists will engrave up to three lines on the gold engraving plate free of charge. This unique gift has many uses. Give it to donors who funded a new building on your school’s campus. Welcome owners of a new business in town. Award it to a civic-minded citizen in your city. This unique twist on tradition makes a great way to show gratitude.
