Description
Although not the first society to organize groups of firefighters, the Romans made significant strides in developing the present day emergency responders. The Roman Republic first created a privately organized fire brigade which extinguished flames for a fee. Later, Augustus created a fire guard, and like today, the Empire trained, paid, and equipped this firefighting service. Emergency responders have been saving lives ever since even while they risked their own. To salute this honorable profession, we offer our Fireman Plaque. A 9” x 12” plank of walnut acts as the mounting board for a die cast profile of a fireman in his helmet. A black brass engraving plate has been fastened to the plaque, and the plate will hold up to five lines of text. Give us the name of the recipient, a date, and any other important information, and our design team will engrave the plate for free. Item AT108, our Fireman Plaque makes an ideal way to salute years of service, acts of heroism, or other important events in the life of a firefighter.
